World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The item upgrade feature allows players to upgrade their existing equipment. This can be done at any upgrader NPC.
Upgrades increase the main stat of an item and add extras based on its type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs or Goldwrap for build casters.
Armour
Link's armor is an essential element to protect him from danger. While it can't be upgraded like weapons, it is able to be improved in various ways to enhance its defense capabilities.
Armour is designed to protect animals and people from harm or injury, whether it's from a direct physical attack or a range of hazards posed by the environment or activities. In the past, armour was typically constructed from leather or fabric, but later metal protections were also utilized particularly in military applications like heavy cavalry and combat drones.
There are many ways to upgrade armour, however, the majority require you to visit one of four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain comes with its own level of upgrades available with higher levels of upgrades granting higher levels of protection and require a higher price in rupees and materials to unlock.
The first thing to remember about Armor Upgrades is they are permanent upgrades which means that once they've been installed, they cannot be replaced unless you have another piece of equipment with the same upgrade. You should only apply most advanced upgrades to your equipment and ensure that you have the equipment needed to complete them.
For those who want to acquire the required upgrade components to upgrade your character, they are available in a variety of places around Hyrule including merchants, shrines as well as enemies. They'll usually be identified with the gold circle or blue triangle symbol, and will be available in large numbers as you advance through the game. They could appear randomly, but there is a chance that getting certain upgrades will trigger a quest that will reward you with even more.
It is also important to note that although the level of protection provided by each upgrade is different, it is the same across all upgrades and will always be better than nothing. This is because a full set of upgraded armor will grant you a high defense boost, which will shield you from all forms of attacks except magic and makes it a formidable tool for any class.
Weapons
You can upgrade your guns with special upgrades that create a truly unique weapon. They can increase the damage, alter the weapon's stats to cater to your build and even unlock new attachments, such as unique enchantments, ammo types, and aesthetic options.
To upgrade a weapon you'll require an upgrade component ready and the item itself. upgrade item has to be at or near a certain level to upgrade it. Most weapons only take one upgrade.
Weapon upgrade components are available scattered throughout the world, from a variety of sources, including merchants or enemies. Upgrade components are a mix of components that you can slot into weapons, armors trinkets, gathering tools and trinkets to earn an attribute bonus. They require equipment to be of a certain degree to allow the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.
Upgrades are a mix of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They are used to improve the effectiveness of weapons and increase their scaling with other stats. They can be found from enemies that are dropped into the open world, bought from a few merchants, or obtained through drops during combat.
Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: the Blacksmith Hewg, in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji located in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.
Prioritize upgrading your most-used slot items first. Then, upgrade the items that you aren't likely to replace anytime soon. If you're planning on playing an asymmetrical build, for instance, upgrade your weapon, then your shoulders and chest followed by your hands and feet. The same principle goes for Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some procs may be better than others depending on your playstyle. Similar is the case for Armour and reforges, with some being better than others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one magic item at one time. If an upgrade project is canceled then any subsequent upgrades for that item will not begin. Upgraded magic items cost twice the amount of gold to create or purchase, however they may have other benefits.
A magical item can be any item with special properties or effects. The majority of these items are weapons, but there are some that include armor, shields as well as cloaks, potions rings, scrolls and other objects. Some of these items are sentient.
The majority of magic items enhance their capabilities. This can make them more useful to a player, or it can help them overcome an especially difficult challenge. Infused weapons can offer bonuses to damage against a particular type of enemy, for instance. This is especially useful for characters who have reached a stage at which they will likely face the same kind of monster repeatedly in dungeons.
A ring that is infused can grant protection against piercing, bludgeoning or slashing injuries from non-magical attacks (not including silvered ones) until the next time the character is taking a long rest. This is especially useful for melee martial characters or anyone looking to avoid buying a shield.
Certain objects with enchanted properties have special powers which allow the character to cast spells that are not in their list of classes. This is useful for a character who has difficulties keeping their spell slots full because of multiclassing. These enchanted objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana), and the spell is determined by rolling a table based upon the amount of Intelligence points expended.
Other items that can be enchanted may allow the player to change their appearance, or create a completely new appearance. These items are particularly useful for characters that have been forced to leave their home or in a location where they may not be welcomed. A magical item could grant them an invisibility effect, or perhaps make them invisible to everyone but a select few.
Utility Items
Utility items are any equipment that does not fall into the categories of clothing or armor and are able to perform a variety of capabilities. In contrast to weapons and armor and Clothing, no utility item can conflict with another. Most utility items have an effect that a player can activate when using them, but some have additional abilities that are triggered when the user presses the button or activates an ability.
The most popular kind of utilitarian item is the Flashlight that illuminates the surrounding area. Other items that are useful include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player to hover in mid-air when moving, and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in any directions when on the ground. In the Engineering section you can create instantly a variety of useful items, while others are unlocked by Research projects or Experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
Players can gain more powerful utility items in addition to the ones available in their regular inventory by purchasing them at the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items can be upgraded to allow greater effectiveness.
Most utility items increase a specific combat attribute or provide the player with some sort of advantage in navigation. For instance, Sharpening stones made by the Weaponsmith increase Power and Ferocity, while Maintenance Oils crafted by the Huntsman boost the power of concentration and healing. Other items of utility can be utilized by players to increase Damage or Condition Damage.
XCOM soldiers can equip one utility item to begin the campaign. An additional slot is available after the completion of certain engineering, research, or experimental projects on the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are made available by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which allows players to equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot, while an offensive grenade is placed in the main slot for grenades.
